Thanks. The argument still holds, but I appreciate greater context.

Also, thanks for the reference to the earlier film. In that context it would look different to the audience that knows it.

The argument still holds, though, because of the hegemony of Hindutva symbolism. That, too, is a question of context: the political context in which many are viewing the movie.

This is not just history. It is a representation of history. That’s why I’m analyzing here.
